Job summary

People Solutions are recruiting an HGV Class 1 Driver (Trunking) for our client in Heysham, Lancashire on a full-time ongoing basis. You will operate Category CE vehicles, complete trunking depot-to-depot deliveries, and perform pre- and post-journey inspections. Nights shifts available with a pay rate of up to £18.50 per hour and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• UK Category CE driving licence required.
• Minimum six months' CE driving experience.
• Driver CPC qualification card required.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences.
• No DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99 endorsements.
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
• Good understanding of UK road traffic legislation.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Completing trunking depot-to-depot deliveries.
• Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections.
• Ensuring loads are secure and compliant with regulations.

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver (Trunking) to join our well-established client based in Heysham, Lancashire on a full-time ongoing basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering up to £18.50 per hour, ongoing work, and immediate starts available with a leading logistics operation.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• £18.50 per hour (Nights)
• Weekly pay

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• Trunking runs
• PM starts between 17:00 and 20:00
• Ongoing assignments
• Immediate starts available

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Completing trunking depot-to-depot deliveries
• Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations
• Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• A minimum of six months' Category CE driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No DR10, DG10, IN10 or TT99 endorsement codes
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• A good understanding of UK road traffic legislation
• Strong communication skills
