People Solutions is recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver in Brighouse. The role offers regular shifts with day and night patterns and potential permanent placement for the right candidate.

Rates start from £18.00/hr (days) and £19.50/hr (nights) with weekend uplift. Benefits include weekly pay, on-site parking, and ongoing training. Experience in retail haulier settings is preferred but not mandatory.

HGV Class 1 Driver - Brighouse

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established retail client. This is an excellent opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, ongoing work, and the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

• Monday to Friday: £18.00 per hour (Days) | £19.50 per hour (Nights)
• Saturday: £19.50 per hour (Days) | £21.00 per hour (Nights)
• Sunday: £20.50 per hour (Days) | £22.00 per hour (Nights)

Shift Pattern:

• Sunday to Saturday operation
• Various day and night shifts available

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Conducting trunk runs safely and efficiently
• Operating Class 1 vehicles in line with company procedures and road transport regulations
• Completing daily vehicle checks
• Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and well presented
• Safely loading and securing goods before departure
• Adhering to all health, safety, and compliance standards

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• Valid UK Category CE Licence
• Minimum of 12 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
• Valid Driver CPC qualification
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points on your licence
• No major endorsement codes including IN, DR, DD, or TT
• Excellent communication and timekeeping skills
• A professional and reliable work ethic

Training:

• Successful completion of a driving assessment
• Two-day paid classroom induction
• Further training alongside a core driver following successful completion of the assessment and induction
• Ongoing industry-related training and support throughout your assignment
• Previous experience working for a retail haulier would be advantageous but is not essential
