Evri Group in Preston is hiring an HGV Class 1 driver for a permanent role. The position runs 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a 10:00–20:00 shift. Salary is £37,042.20 per year, with a 1-hour unpaid daily break.

You will drive a modern Volvo fleet, ensure on-time deliveries, and comply with road transport laws. Some sites require loading/unloading and occasional pallet handling.

Qualifikationen

• Class 1 driving licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification card essential.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.
• Strong knowledge of road transport laws.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

The role is based on 45 paid hours per week, typically worked as 9 paid hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an additional 1-hour unpaid break each day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, sothere’splenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
