Job summary

People Solutions in Newbridge is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver to join a busy transport operation. You will complete bulk deliveries and collections across designated routes, driving a Category CE vehicle safely and efficiently.

The role requires a UK Category C+E licence, CPC, Tachograph card and prior Class 1 experience. Benefits include weekly pay, competitive hourly rate, enhanced overtime, Monday–Friday shifts, full site induction and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• Holder of UK Category C+E driving licence, CPC and tachograph cards.
• Proven Class 1 driving experience with bulk deliveries/collections.
• Strong communication, reliability, punctuality and safety focus.
• Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and tachograph rules.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete bulk deliveries and collections on designated routes.
• Drive a Category CE vehicle safely and efficiently.
• Load/unload when required and secure loads.
• Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle checks.
• Follow routes, schedules and delivery paperwork accurately.
• Maintain communication with transport team throughout the day.
• Adhere to Drivers' Hours, Tachograph and Road Traffic Regulations.

HGV Class 1 Driver - Newbridge

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Newbridge.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced driver to join a busy transport operation, completing bulk deliveries and collections across designated routes.

This would suit applicants who have worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry.

Rates of Pay:

• £16.36 per hour
• Overtime paid at £24.54 per hour

Shift Pattern:

• Monday to Friday
• 09:00 start time
• Finish time dependent on completion of work

Day-to-Day Duties:

Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver are:

• Completing bulk deliveries and collections
• Driving a Category CE vehicle safely and efficiently
• Loading and unloading goods where required
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
• Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts
• Following planned routes and delivery schedules
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately
• Maintaining communication with the transport team throughout the day
• Following all Drivers' Hours, Tachograph and Road Traffic Regulations
• Providing a professional service to customers

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
• A valid CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 1 driving experience
• Experience with bulk deliveries or collections
• Good communication skills
• A reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach
• A good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Regulations
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
