People Solutions are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client in Birmingham. The role offers excellent hourly rates, weekly pay, and a genuine temporary to permanent opportunity, with no dropped shifts.
Shifts are Monday to Friday with start times between 03:00 and 06:00. Duties include trunking routes, safe operation of CE vehicles, pre/post checks, and accurate paperwork. A CE licence, CPC, and Tachograph card are required, with at least two years CE experience.

Rates of Pay
Days
• £16.98 per hour (basic rate)
• £22.57 per hour after 48 hours worked

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Completing depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps
• Operating Category CE (HGV Class 1) vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre-use and post-use vehicle safety inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly before departure
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
• Maintaining accurate transport paperwork and delivery documentation
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or operational issues
• Delivering a professional and reliable service at all times
Essential Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A valid UK Category CE (HGV Class 1) Driving Licence
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of two years' Category CE driving experience
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
• Good knowledge of Driver Hours, Tachograph, and Working Time Regulations
• Good spoken and written English
• A reliable, professional, and safety-conscious approach to work
Desirable Experience
• Previous experience completing Class 1 trunking, RDC deliveries, trailer swaps, or general haulage work would be advantageous
