Job summary

Volvo Group in Croydon, UK invites applicants to join the HGV Technician Apprenticeship starting in 2027. You will learn to repair, service, MOT and maintain modern trucks and buses under expert supervision, gaining IMI qualifications.

The 32‑month Advanced Level Apprenticeship is based at Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby with block release. The programme covers coursework and practical, with travel and accommodation costs borne by the employer.

Qualifications

Enthusiastic about heavy vehicles and eager to learn.
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
GCSE A*-C in Math and English required.

Responsibilities

Assist with repairs carried out in accordance with Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Special Tools.
Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
Learn and comply with warranty procedures during repairs.
Assist with ensuring correct replacement parts are fitted.
Attend college courses regularly and achieve course standards.
Learn to use Volvo special tools safely.
Work with qualified technicians learning repair, service, MOT and maintenance.
