Job summary

GTG Training – West Midlands is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to transition into a Technical Trainer role. This is a rewarding move from workshop to classroom, enabling you to develop the next generation of technicians while delivering practical and classroom-based training.

You will train apprentices and delegates toward industry-recognised qualifications at GTG’s training centre, assess progress, maintain records, and support learners throughout their development.

Qualifications

• No teaching experience is required – we’ll provide full training and support to gain a teaching qualification.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
• Electrical diagnostics and modern vehicle technology knowledge.
• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Training apprentices and commercial delegates towards industry-recognised qualifications at GTG’s training centre.
• Delivering practical and classroom-based training.
• Assessing learner progress.
• Maintaining training records.
• Supporting apprentices throughout their development.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 and bonus opportunities

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm, no weekend work required
