Job summary

GTG Training Limited in Leicester is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to become a Technical Trainer, moving from the workshop into a rewarding training role. You will train apprentices and commercial delegates at GTG’s training centre, deliver practical and classroom-based training, assess learner progress, maintain records and support learners through their development.

The role offers Monday–Friday 8am–4.30pm, £35,000–£40,000 with bonus opportunities, 33 days’ holiday, private

Qualifications

• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
• Electrical diagnostics and modern vehicle technology knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Training apprentices and commercial delegates towards industry-recognised qualifications at GTG’s training centre.
• Delivering practical and classroom-based training.
• Assessing learner progress.
• Maintaining training records.
• Supporting apprentices throughout their development.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm, no weekend work required

What we’re looking for from you

• No teaching experience is required – we’ll provide full training and support to gain a teaching qualification
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience
• Electrical diagnostics and modern vehicle technology knowledge
• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm
• Full UK driving licence
