Job summary

GTG Training – West Midlands is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to move into a Technical Trainer role at our training centre.

You will deliver practical and classroom-based training to apprentices and delegates, assess learner progress, and maintain training records, with full support to gain a teaching qualification. The role offers Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, and strong progression prospects.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent).
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
• Electrical diagnostics knowledge and modern vehicle technology.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Training apprentices and delegates towards industry-recognised qualifications.
• Delivering practical and classroom-based training.
• Assessing learner progress and maintaining training records.
• Supporting apprentices throughout their development.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 and bonus opportunities

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm, no weekend work required

What You’ll Be Doing

• Training apprentices and commercial delegates towards industry-recognised qualifications at GTG’s training centre.
• Delivering practical and classroom-based training.
• Assessing learner progress.
• Maintaining training records.
• Supporting apprentices throughout their development.

What We’re Looking For From You

• No teaching experience is required – we’ll provide full training and support to gain a teaching qualification
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience
• Electrical diagnostics and modern vehicle technology knowledge
• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm
• Full UK driving licence
