Overview

Heating Engineer – based in NW, HA and W9 – Up to £16.50 per hour - Plenty of Overtime as Heating Season

Our client is a well-established provider of building support services, working with local authorities, social housing providers, NHS Trusts, and private organisations for over 40 years. They have consistently delivered reliable mechanical, electrical, and security solutions to both commercial and residential customers.

The Role

We are seeking a qualified Heating Engineer to undertake servicing, maintenance, and repairs on gas-fired boilers and central heating systems in both occupied and vacant properties. The successful candidate will ensure all works are completed in line with client specifications, industry standards, and current gas safety legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs on gas boilers and heating systems.
  • Commission new boiler installations and associated control systems.
  • Identify and replace defective components as required.
  • Drain and refill heating systems to replace or repair radiators, valves, and related components.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation, including risk assessments and asbestos awareness protocols.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by management.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong technical and diagnostic skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of working independently while maintaining a professional approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Sound knowledge of flue arrangements and building materials.
  • Asbestos awareness and risk assessment knowledge.
  • Comfortable working at height or in confined spaces.
  • Customer-focused attitude with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
  • Resident within or near the NW, HA and W9 area.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Current ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1).
  • Full UK driving licence.
Remuneration and Benefits
  • £16.50 per hour, based on a 45-hour week.
