Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support, configure and maintain a suite of clinical and back-end systems used across Trust sites. The role involves 1st/2nd line support, testing and training for new releases, and managing smartcard distribution in line with NHS guidelines.

The successful candidate will work across sites, with occasional travel to Chichester and Worthing, and support a diverse user base in a busy NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Experience using patient or customer focused IT based information systems.
• Experience training people to use IT systems over the telephone and face to face.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of users and convey complex information.

Responsibilities

• Administer and integrity-check all listed systems within the Trust.
• Provide 1st/2nd line IT support for the systems and respond promptly to incidents.
• Support testing, configuration, and training for new software releases; adjust configurations as needed.
• Proactively manage and distribute Smartcards to staff following NHS guidelines.
• Collaborate with IT teams, trainers and system suppliers to resolve issues quickly.
