Job description

Were looking for a caring and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our Inpatient Ward team at Practice Plus Group. This is a rewarding role where youll play a key part in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-focused care.

Our ward provides services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so youll be working shifts on a rota basis, including:

  • Day shifts: 07:00 19:30
  • Occasional night shifts: 19:00 07:30
  • Shifts include weekends and bank holidays

This is a great opportunity to build on your existing care experience and gain valuable skills within a supportive and professional hospital environment.

Main duties of the job

As our Healthcare Assistant, youll be an important part of the team, supporting patients and working alongside nurses and clinicians. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting patients with personal care, mobility, nutrition, rest and recovery.
  • Recording vital signs such as temperature, pulse and blood pressure.
  • Supporting patients through investigations and procedures, ensuring dignity and respect.
  • Helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment on the ward.
  • Updating care plans, charts and patient records accurately.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families and colleagues to provide reassurance and support.
  • Assisting with ward administration tasks, such as greeting patients and answering calls.

Training and development opportunities will be provided so you can grow your skills and confidence in the role.
