Base pay range

I am currently working with a leading M&E contractor operating within the building services sector. It provides a range of mechanical and electrical engineering solutions to clients across various industries. The business generates an annual turnover of over £200 million, with average MEP project values of £30 million+ and retains its core family values. The company covers diverse construction markets, including high-end, mid-level residential, commercial fitouts, data centres, offsite modular engineering, and the growing life sciences sectors.

Health and Safety Manager Opportunity:

My client is seeking a proactive and confident Health and Safety Manager to join their expanding team. This role offers the chance to ensure compliance and promote a strong safety culture across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will manage your schedule, balancing site visits and office work. The business operates from two locations: Central London and East London, with flexibility to choose your base. Currently managing 16 live projects, with an average of 20 at any time, you will oversee 4 to 5 projects, depending on scope and location, with 2 to 3 site visits per month to provide support and autonomy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support HSQE projects and documentation, including Preliminary and Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans.
• Maintain compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation, staying aware of legislative changes and industry standards.
• Review safety documentation from clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Conduct site inspections and produce reports.
• Assist site teams with Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and related documentation.
• Prepare and deliver site toolbox talks.
• Report regularly to management, project teams, and clients.
• Investigate incidents/accidents and prepare reports.
• Provide HSQE advice to staff and contractors, liaising with site personnel.
• Compile Safety Files and O&M Manuals.
• Hold a recognized HSQE qualification, such as NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction or IOSH.
• Have at least 4 years of HSQE experience in construction.
• Possess excellent communication, planning, organizational, teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
