HSE Manager

This is a unique and challenging opportunity to take on multi-site responsibility across an expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing business that aims to strengthen its approach to consistent Health and Safety management. Having advanced over the past two years through several successful projects to increase manufacturing capacity and headcount, Health and Safety remains a primary focus.

While this role is multi-site focused, it is crucial to recognize that there is a significant emphasis on not just HSE oversight but also direct responsibility across all aspects of Health and Safety.

The specialized nature of the manufacturing environment requires you to bring previous experience in radiation and/or radioactivity. This includes developing consistent procedures and supporting local site challenges to maintain compliance.

As the business plans to expand its facilities, the HSE Manager will also be responsible for creating new documentation and processes for implementation.

This position is based remotely and not tied to a single facility. However, you will be expected to travel within the UK approximately once a month to visit sites. Flexibility for travel is essential. A car or car allowance will be provided as part of the benefits package.

Initially, in the first 6 months, you will need to spend 3 days on-site at one of the South-East facilities in Surrey to support immediate challenges.

Key experience:

1. Established and experienced HSE/Health and Safety professional with hands-on experience.
2. Experience in relevant radioactive settings (not necessarily limited to pharmaceuticals).
3. IRR17 experience and familiarity with conducting radiological risk assessments.
4. Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
5. Hands-on approach with the ability to engage with all levels within the organization.
