Job description

We are looking for a HEAD RECEPTIONIST for our superb2 AA 4Silver Crowne Plaza Reading, Eskdale Road, Winnersh,Wokingham Berks RG41 5TS

Located adjacent to the Winnersh Triangle station on the Reading to Waterloo service ( 5 minutes to Reading central), and within very close proximity of Reading/Bracknell and Wokingham, the hotel has 174 bedrooms with Academy with 8 conference/banqueting suites for up to 280 in the largest suite, substantial Esprit Fitness & Spa facilities with 19m indoor pool, large Life Fitness Gym, Sauna and Steam room, 2 AA Caprice restaurant and Monty's Bar & Lounge

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head Receptionist to be part of our senior management team

Together with the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the hotel’s Front Office Team in addition to developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and increase sales, thereby maximising revenue.

Reporting to the Front Office Manager and General Manager you will be responsible for Reception, Reservations Enquiries, and Night Team

Outstanding team management skills are essential as you will assist in the development and performance management of the Front Office team. You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service standards and encourage sales (up-sales, cross-sales).

You should also have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal and have a working knowledge of Opera or a similar system.

The ideal candidate must also be prepared to be fully flexible as you will be required to work hands on Duty Management shifts and shifts as required. You will work on a shift basis, working 5 days out of 7.

The successful candidate should preferably have previously worked in a branded Hotel, preferably an InterContinental Hotels Group brand, in a similar role.

Prior knowledge of Opera PMS is a strong advantage.

You should have a proven track record of leading a team to achieve performance and operational targets with particular emphasis on Rooms Management.

You will be require to motivate and inspire the team and be able to implement new systems and procedures.

You should have an outgoing personality and a strong attention to detail.

Start date as soon as possible.

You must be eligible to live and work in the UK unrestricted
