About The Role

Are you a passionate and experienced Veterinary Receptionist looking for an exciting opportunity in London? Look no further! Here at the award-winning, thriving Streatham Hill Veterinary Surgery, we are currently looking for a dedicated individual to join our incredible team as our Head Veterinary Receptionist.

Our practice is renowned for delivering exceptional care and service to our clients' lovely pets. We pride ourselves on our commitment to providing the very best veterinary care while creating a warm and welcoming environment for our teams, our patients, and their owners.

As a Head Veterinary Receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for our clients; you'll be the friendly face and the first person our clients see when they walk through our doors, greeting clients with a smile and giving their pets a good fuss! You'll assist them with scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and providing general support. You will also manage the reception team day-to-day.

Your day at Streatham Hill could include:

  1. Welcoming clients and their pets upon arrival
  2. Booking appointments and arrivals on the RX Works diary
  3. Helping to promote our Healthcare Plan so that pets receive premium discounted preventative treatment
  4. Booking follow-up appointments for pets after their initial consultation
  5. Assisting the Vet and Nurse team with queries
  6. Managing paperwork being scanned onto pets' digital records
  7. Liaising with clients regarding appointment bookings and medication collection
  8. Ordering food and medication
  9. Processing payments immediately after pet treatments
  10. Handling 0% finance application processing for clients wanting to spread the cost of larger operations
  11. Managing a busy reception desk efficiently and professionally, including emails and social media pages

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, with shift patterns between 7:30 am and 8:00 pm, including 1 in 4 weekends. You will also be required to work some bank holidays annually.

About You

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or in a similar customer-facing role within the veterinary industry
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine love for animals and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software; experience with RxWorks is a massive plus!
