Job summary

A leading mental health service provider in Newbury is looking for a therapist to manage a small team and provide effective therapy programmes. Job description

You will be working within a multi‑disciplinary team and alongside other therapists. There will also be line management responsibilities for a team of psychologists and psychology assistants, this will include but is not limited to giving clinical supervision, providing psychotherapeutic advice and guidance and assisting with the analysis of statistical data for research and audit purposes. The role will also include some staff training, running reflective practice and team formulations. At Priory Hospital Newbury, you will oversee a smaller Therapy Services team comprising a Psychology Assistant, Lead Occupational Therapist, and Therapy Assistants. You will work closely within the MDTs across both wards and report directly to the Senior Management Team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and allocate caseloads within agreed timescales, ensuring regular communication with patients and staff
  • Respond promptly to referrals and undertake assessments to plan and deliver effective, evidence‑based therapy programmes
  • Provide high‑quality individual and group interventions aligned with patients therapy plans
  • Complete risk assessments to inform and support safe and effective therapeutic programmes
  • Lead and support MDT working to ensure coordinated, holistic care
