Job summary
Rail Delivery Group in the United Kingdom seeks a Head of Engineering to lead the RDG Engineering, ERTMS and Digital Systems Team and align with DFTO Rolling Stock Strategy. You will drive centralised engineering support for RDG, GBR and industry partners to ensure a safe, punctual railway.
Responsibilities include shaping policy, directing cross-functional teams, and guiding the REGS graduate programme while coordinating with Network Rail and industry stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of rail industry architecture and contractual relationships.
- Strong knowledge of safety obligations and interoperability in GB rail.
- Ability to develop and direct engineering strategies at scale.
Responsibilities
- Act as Professional Head for RDG engineering support activities.
- Advise and advocate for senior GB rail engineering communities.
- Provide technical leadership across RDG, DFTO and GBR policy areas.
- Influence strategic direction of GB and European rail engineering.
- Deliver cost-effective engineering support for stakeholders.
- Oversee digital signalling technology rollout with partners.
