Job summary

Hitachi Rail Gts Uk Limited is seeking an experienced Engineering Delivery Manager to lead the engineering across our Light Rail portfolio in the UK. You will oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time delivery within scope and budget, while applying defined processes and governance.

The role requires strong leadership and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to coordinate with European and UK teams and to travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in systems engineering management within rail or infrastructure projects.
• Experience growing and scaling a portfolio of projects to meet business needs.
• Knowledge of whole systems engineering lifecycles for large complex systems.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee engineering projects from initiation to completion on time, within scope and budget.
• Direct engineering scope in bids and business development activities.
• Develop and own the engineering approach across the UK Light Rail portfolio.
• Ensure high-quality standards and best practices in software and hardware development.
• Collaborate with international teams and customers to maintain trust and delivery.
• Support the growth of the engineering team within the portfolio.
• Identify risks and opportunities; develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical input to schedule updates and governance reviews.
