Job summary

Rail Delivery Group (RDG) is seeking a Rolling Stock Engineer and REGS Advisor to support TOCs and the wider rail sector with engineering projects and best practice. You will provide technical leadership on rolling stock, fleet performance, and interfaces, while guiding graduate schemes across the industry.

The role also focuses on coordinating industry groups, developing engineering standards, and promoting professional registration, with a flexible, hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with broad knowledge of railway engineering, operations and supply chain.
• Experience as engineering mentor, training advisor or scheme coordinator.
• Familiarity with MPDS and UK-SPEC.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate rolling stock engineering projects for member TOCs and the wider rail industry.
• Provide technical engineering expertise on rolling stock, fleet performance, maintenance and interfaces.
• Coordinate industry working groups, workshops and meetings to support project delivery.
• Contribute to industry standards, guidance and best practice; support RSSB and RAIB responses.
