Job summary

Citizen Housing Group is seeking a Head of Compliance to lead landlord safety and compliance across its housing portfolio in the West Midlands. The role is based at 4040 Lakeside, Birmingham Business Park, with hybrid working, and will oversee large-scale safety programmes and regulatory engagements.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of building safety legislation, CIOB Level 6, and a strong track record in managing risk and delivering major compliance investments.

Qualifications

• Degree in built environment or equivalent.
• CIOB Level 6 in Building Safety or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of compliance and building safety legislation (PAS 8673:2022).
• Knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

• Act as competent person and SME for landlord compliance and safety obligations.
• Manage statutory and regulatory compliance risks.
• Deliver compliance investment and servicing programmes exceed£30m annually.
• Engage with regulators and provide organisational assurance.

Position: Head of Compliance

Location: 4040 Lakeside, Birmingham Business Park, B37 7YN (hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the organisation's competent person and subject matter expert for landlord compliance and safety of the home obligations.
• Management of statutory and regulatory compliance risks.
• Delivery of compliance investment and servicing programmes exceeding £30m annually.
• Regulatory engagement and organisational assurance.

Qualifications and experience:

• A degree level or equivalent qualification in a recognised discipline in the built environment
• CIOB level 6 in building safety (or equivalent)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable compliance and building safety legislation, guidance and standards and competencies including PAS 8673:2022
• Knowledge of the ongoing management of safety in the built environment, with knowledge of the application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
• Full UK driving license
