Job summary

Citizen, a major UK social housing provider, is seeking a Head of Compliance to lead landlord safety and compliance. The role focuses on acting as the competent person for home obligations, risk management, and delivering substantial compliance programmes.

The successful candidate will engage with regulators, ensure ongoing safety standards, and drive assurance across the organisation while reporting to senior leadership in a hybrid Birmingham-based setting.

Qualifications

• A degree level or equivalent qualification in a recognised discipline in the built environment.
• CIOB level 6 in building safety (or equivalent).
• Extensive knowledge of applicable compliance and building safety legislation, guidance and standards and PAS 8673:2022.
• Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
• Full UK driving license.

Position: Head of Compliance

Location: 4040 Lakeside, Birmingham Business Park, B37 7YN (hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the organisation's competent person and subject matter expert for landlord compliance and safety of the home obligations.
• Management of statutory and regulatory compliance risks.
• Delivery of compliance investment and servicing programmes exceeding £30m annually.
• Regulatory engagement and organisational assurance.

Qualifications and experience:

• A degree level or equivalent qualification in a recognised discipline in the built environment
• CIOB level 6 in building safety (or equivalent)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable compliance and building safety legislation, guidance and standards and competencies including PAS 8673:2022
• Knowledge of the ongoing management of safety in the built environment, with knowledge of the application of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
• Full UK driving license
