Head of Claims Strategic Operations

The Head of Claims Strategic Operations is part of the MRS-GM Claims Leadership Team. This vital role leads the Claims Department through its transformation to adapt to a rapidly growing business across Europe and APAC, evolving system environments, and integration initiatives. A key focus will be driving Claims Integration through Systems and Processes, establishing streamlined infrastructure, and building in-house Claims Operations with both interim and long-term solutions. This role also involves standardizing systems, data, and processes to enhance Claims management, reduce redundancies, and improve service.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the Claims Department through reorganization and integration, developing strategies, priorities, and KPIs to measure success.
  2. Collaborating with the Syndicate Claims Operations team to optimize core functionalities and operational efficiency, and to expedite claims advancements.
  3. Identifying, prioritizing, and implementing changes in systems, processes, and data to meet Claims Department needs and provide visibility for management.
  4. Building innovative system functionalities to optimize efficiency and scalability.
  5. Working with Finance, Data & Process Improvement, Analytics, Business Architecture, IT, and other stakeholders to achieve operational objectives.
  6. Overseeing reporting for regulatory and company requirements, staying informed of regulations and market trends.
  7. Evaluating legacy and incumbent systems for optimal functionality to ensure consistent service delivery.
  8. Communicating operational initiatives, project statuses, and issues to senior leadership.
  9. Driving good conduct practices to deliver optimal outcomes for customers and policyholders.
  10. Understanding escalation procedures and responsibilities related to conduct risk.

Knowledge and Skills

- BA or higher degree; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above preferred.
- 10-12 years of operations experience, with at least 5 in P&C.
- Proven success in strategic initiatives and process optimization in claims.
- Solution-oriented with adaptability during transitions.
- Experience with enterprise systems, automation, and best practices.
- Deep knowledge of P&C/ Specialty claims operations.
- Strong leadership and change management skills.
- Collaborative, approachable, and effective in multi-functional teams.
- Analytical skills for reports, metrics, and improvement plans.
- University degree or relevant professional qualification.
