Job summary

Worsley Lodge, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Head Housekeeper in Manchester to oversee cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

You will lead the housekeeping team, supervise room, bathroom and communal area cleaning, and ensure high hygiene standards while coordinating daily operations and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing cleaning of residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas to high hygiene and presentation standards.
• Coordinate daily operations to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control and health & safety procedures.
• Ensure a well organised and responsive service by working with other departments and monitoring quality.
• Manage supplies and support staff through training and leadership to maintain a high performing environment.

About Worsley Lodge

Worsley Lodge is a welcoming 48 bed care home in Worsley, Manchester, providing residential care for older people. Our dedicated team provides compassionate, person centred care, supporting residents to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life in a warm and supportive environment.

• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Head Housekeeper Contract

• £14.35- £14.70 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Head Housekeeper, you will take overall responsibility for the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment is maintained at all times. This is a key leadership role where your standards and attention to detail will directly impact daily life and overall experience.

You will lead and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing the cleaning of residents’ rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas to ensure consistently high standards of hygiene and presentation. You will coordinate daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.

Working closely with other departments, you will ensure a well organised and responsive service. You will monitor quality, manage supplies and support your team through training, guidance and leadership, creating a positive and high performing environment.
