Worsley Lodge Care Home invites an experienced Home Manager to take full day-to-day leadership of the home. You will build trust with residents, relatives and colleagues, drive quality improvement, strengthen governance and embed improvements beyond inspection cycles.
You will lead the leadership team, focus on staff engagement and retention, and ensure a stable, capable workforce that maintains occupancy and delivers compassionate, cost-aware care.
Worsley Lodge is ready for its next chapter, and we need a leader to take it there.
Our purpose-built residential care home supports up to 48 people in the heart of Worsley.
The home has strong foundations; a committed care team, high occupancy and a carehome.co.uk review score of 9.7. Residents and relatives speak warmly about the kindness of colleagues, the welcoming atmosphere and the quality of everyday life.
Now, we need an experienced and resilient Home Manager to turn those foundations into sustained progress.
Following a recent CQC assessment, Worsley Lodge requires focused leadership to strengthen governance, improve staffing stability and sharpen operational oversight. This is a hands‑on opportunity to make a visible difference to residents, relatives and colleagues – Someone to lead the home confidently through its next stage of improvement.
You will have the support of an experienced regional and central team, but you will need to take ownership, set clear standards and turn improvement plans into consistent, sustainable practice.
As Home Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of Worsley Lodge. You will be highly visible throughout the home, building trust with residents, relatives and colleagues while creating a culture in which people feel supported, valued and accountable.
Quality improvement will be at the heart of your role. You will ensure the home’s action plans are delivered, strengthen auditing and governance processes, and make certain that improvements are embedded and sustained, not simply introduced in preparation for inspection.
You will develop the home’s leadership team, improve colleague engagement and retention, and establish a stable workforce that can consistently meet residents’ needs. Alongside this, you will maintain strong occupancy, manage resources responsibly and ensure the home performs effectively from both a care and commercial perspective.
Most importantly, you will protect everything residents and families already value about Worsley Lodge while providing the leadership required to move the home confidently forward.
You are an experienced care home leader with a proven record of improving quality, developing teams and delivering positive outcomes within a regulated care environment.
You have worked as a Registered Manager with substantial responsibility for the leadership and performance of a care home. You understand what it takes to lead a home through change, and you are confident working within CQC regulations, quality frameworks and safeguarding requirements.
You have already demonstrated your ability to deliver measurable and sustainable improvements. Whether strengthening governance, improving auditing and risk management, developing regulatory action plans or embedding better standards of care, you know how to turn expectations into consistent everyday practice. You understand that a stable, skilled workforce is central to quality care. You have experience improving recruitment, retention and colleague engagement, and you know how to create a culture where people feel supported, valued and accountable. You are equally comfortable managing budgets, occupancy and operational performance, ensuring that the home remains both financially sustainable and focused on residents’ needs.
You will hold a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, an equivalent qualification, or a commitment to complete it.
Above all, you are a visible, compassionate and accountable leader. You remain calm under pressure, are honest about what needs to improve and can bring people with you through change. You balance kindness with clear expectations and have the resilience to maintain progress when faced with competing priorities.
