Job summary

Worsley Lodge Care Home in Manchester is seeking a Head Housekeeper to take overall responsibility for cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.

You will lead and manage the housekeeping team, oversee cleaning of residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, and coordinate daily operations in line with infection control and health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a housekeeping or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Good understanding of cleaning standards, hygiene and infection control.
• Ability to manage workload, priorities and team performance.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the housekeeping team to maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation across residents' rooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
• Coordinate daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control and health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a well organised and responsive service and monitor quality.

About Worsley Lodge
Worsley Lodge is a welcoming 48 bed care home in Worsley, Manchester, providing residential care for older people. Our dedicated team provides compassionate, person centred care, supporting residents to maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life in a warm and supportive environment.

• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Head Housekeeper, you will take overall responsibility for the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the home, ensuring a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment is maintained at all times. This is a key leadership role where your standards and attention to detail will directly impact daily life and overall experience.
You will lead and manage the housekeeping team, overseeing the cleaning of residents’ rooms, bathrooms and all communal areas to ensure consistently high standards of hygiene and presentation. You will coordinate daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and in line with infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures.
Working closely with other departments, you will ensure a well organised and responsive service. You will monitor quality, manage supplies and support your team through training, guidance and leadership, creating a positive and high performing environment.
