Job summary

Runwood Homes Senior Living is seeking a Head Chef to lead our hospitality team and deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals without split shifts. You will create nutritious, flavoursome menus and work with residents on menu development, while maintaining budgets and high safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting acumen, and HACCP/Hygiene expertise, with opportunities for progression within the company and full induction provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering with budget handling.
• Knowledge of special dietary needs and nutrition.
• Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene certificate and HACCP understanding.
• Ability to plan menus with costing.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work within the agreed company budget.
• Train kitchen staff on dish specification and budget control.
• Manage the stock in the kitchen.
• Inspire and motivate the team to achieve food to specification and resident satisfaction.
• Lead by example, setting the pace and standards.
• Meet monthly with management to ensure dietary requirements are met.
• Train and develop the team to deliver food to specification and exceed residents' expectations.
• Ensure all food is cooked to a safe temperature and taste tested before serving.
• Ensure storage of food meets health and safety requirements.
• Deliver company kitchen standards as identified on audits.
• Implement and ensure Health and Safety policy is met and staff are trained.
