Job summary

Runwood Homes Ltd is seeking a Head Chef to lead our Hospitality team and deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals across our residential sites. You will have full autonomy to create nutritious, flavoursome menus while liaising with residents to involve them in menu development.

The role emphasizes budget control, staff training, and ensuring food safety and dietary requirements are met. We offer induction, ongoing training, and progression opportunities, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering environments, including care or hotel settings.
• Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene certificate and HACCP knowledge.
• Ability to manage budgets, menus with costing.
• Excellent leadership and communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Work within the agreed company budget.
• Train kitchen staff on dish specifications and budget control.
• Manage the stock in the kitchen.
• Inspire and motivate the team to meet food to specification and residents' satisfaction.
• Lead by example, setting pace and standards.
• Meet monthly with management to ensure dietary requirements are met.
• Train and develop the team to deliver food to specification.
• Ensure all food is cooked to a safe temperature and tested before serving.
• Ensure storage meets health and safety requirements.
• Deliver kitchen standards identified on audits.
• Implement and enforce Health and Safety policy and staff training.
