St Austell Brewery is seeking an enthusiastic Head Chef for The Oystercatcher in Polzeath, Cornwall. You’ll lead a busy kitchen team, cooking with locally sourced produce and delivering a high-quality dining experience for guests after a day on the coast.

With a live-in option, you can enjoy the coastal lifestyle both in and out of work. The role offers scope for development within a supportive kitchen team at a popular pub by the sea.

Qualifications

• Experience as Head Chef in fast-paced kitchen environments.
• Ability to lead front and back of house with clarity and vision.
• Knowledge of food costing and menu planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen team to deliver high-quality menus.
• Oversee daily operations and ensure food safety and consistency.
• Manage costs, stock, and waste to meet targets.
• Contribute to guest satisfaction with excellent service.

The Oystercatcher is a contemporary bar and restaurant with comfy accommodation that enjoys an enviable outlook over Polzeath Beach and out to sea, from both inside and across its spectacular al fresco space.

You’ll be working at a scenic pub that’s popular among families, couples, and surfers seeking a delicious bite to eat following a session on the waves or a day out exploring Cornwall’s dramatic north coast.
