Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a motivated Science Technician to join a busy Science Department in Warwickshire. You will support Biology, Chemistry and Physics teaching by preparing equipment, setting up experiments, and maintaining laboratory stock and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a science background, strong organisational skills and a good eye for detail. Training will be provided to support health and safety compliance within a secondary school setting.

Qualifications

• Background in science (academic or practical)
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and health & safety awareness
• Able to work well as part of a busy school team
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable; training will be provided

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons
• Set up and clear away experiments in line with health and safety guidelines
• Maintain, organise and order stock and equipment
• Support practical lessons where required
• Ensure laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations
• Assist with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals
