Job summary

Marchant Recruitment supports a successful secondary school in Staffordshire seeking a motivated Science Technician to assist teaching and learning across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The role involves preparing equipment, setting up experiments, stocking and organising labs, and helping with health and safety practices. Training will be provided; prior science experience is welcome but not essential.

Qualifications

• Has a background in science (academic or practical).
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness.
• Can work effectively as part of a busy school team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons.
• Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment.
• Supporting practical lessons where required.
• Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations.
• Assisting with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals.
