Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a motivated Science Technician to join a busy Science Department at a Nottinghamshire school. You will support Biology, Chemistry and Physics, preparing equipment and helping practical lessons.

The role focuses on health and safety, stock management, and assisting with risk assessments. Training will be provided; previous Science Technician experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Has a background in science (academic or practical).
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness.
• Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons.
• Setting up and clearing away experiments in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment.
• Supporting practical lessons where required.
• Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations.
• Assisting with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals.
