Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a successful secondary school in Essex to appoint a motivated Science Technician in their Science Department. The role focuses on supporting Biology, Chemistry and Physics with practical equipment and safe lab practice.

You will prepare materials, set up experiments, manage stock, and assist with risk assessments while upholding high health and safety standards. A collaborative team environment and training are provided.

Qualifications

• Background in science, academic or practical, is required.
• Highly organised with attention to detail and reliable.
• Strong health and safety awareness is essential.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Previous Science Technician experience is desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons.
• Set up and clear away experiments following health and safety guidelines.
• Maintain, organise and order stock and equipment.
• Support practical lessons as required by teaching staff.
• Ensure laboratories are clean, safe and compliant with regulations.
• Assist with risk assessments and safe storage of chemicals.
