Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Technician to join our team at Farmoor Water Treatment Works. You’ll inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, and repair mechanical and electrical plant with minimal supervision to keep sites operational and compliant with safety standards.

You’ll work on pumps, control gear, motors, VSDs, PLCs and related equipment, with a 38-hour week and a Friday finish. The role requires a time-served electrical apprenticeship and a mechanical upskill to

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in electrical systems mandatory.
• Upskilled with mechanical NVQ2/3 preferred.
• Experience as true multi-skilled technician.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant faults and perform repairs quickly.
• Provide technical advice and training to trainees as needed.
• Work with pumps, motors, control gear and PLCs.
• Assist in standby rota when required.
