Job summary

Thames Water is recruiting for Mechanical & Electrical Technicians to join our Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works. You will inspect, maintain, fault-diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and electrical equipment with minimum supervision to keep sites operational for customers.

The role requires a time-served electrical apprenticeship and upskilling in mechanical work; dual-skilled development is supported.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship with significant electrical experience.
• Upskilled with a mechanical qualification is advantageous.
• Experience in a true multi-skilled capacity is essential.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues is crucial.
• A valid driving license is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled planned maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs quickly to avoid interruptions.
• Provide technical advice and training/support for trainees as required.
• Work on equipment such as pumps, three-phase motors, control gear, VSDs, PLCs.
• Participate in standby rota following training.
