Job summary

National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking a Welcome Manager to lead a small welcome team across Coleton Fishacre, Overbecks, and coastal car parks in South Devon from Kingswear to Wembury. The role is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week), with a salary of £27,612 per annum.

You’ll oversee day-to-day operations in the welcome area and manage volunteers, ensuring high standards of service and safeguarding across sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in visitor services, tourism, heritage or similar.
• Naturally curious about people, and motivated to give the highest standards of service.
• Highly organised.
• A confident leader.
• Adept at managing financial performance.
• Up for a challenge, adaptable and responsive under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage our team of welcome and service assistants and volunteers.
• Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly in the welcome area at Coleton Fishacre and Overbecks, and in car parks.
• Inspire and care for your team and help grow our charitable income.
• Lead from the front with good judgement, in line with National Trust guidelines, values and policies.
• Be duty manager for Coleton Fishacre and occasionally Overbecks, with safeguarding, cash and tills, fire, security and evacuation.
• Main point of contact for staff, volunteers and visitors in case of emergency, enquiries or complaints.
