Job summary

Classic Lodges is seeking a friendly Hotel Receptionist at The Old Swan Hotel, Harrogate. You will be the first point of contact, offering a warm welcome, handling reservations, and ensuring efficient check-in/check-out for guests.

You’ll join a welcoming Front of House team, with opportunities to develop your hospitality career in a busy, guest-focused environment. Full-time, on-site role with shift patterns including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing role is desirable; full training is provided.
• Confident and friendly communicator with good telephone manner.
• Organised and reliable, able to prioritise in a busy environment.
• Good numerical skills and comfortable handling cash and payments.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests on arrival and ensure smooth check-in and check-out.
• Manage reservations, room allocations and payments via PMS and POS.
• Respond to guest enquiries and resolve issues or escalate when needed.
• Provide information on hotel facilities and local attractions.
• Support telephone and email enquiries and relay messages.
• Maintain reception area and keep records up to date.
• Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance to meet guest needs.
• Handle card and account transactions with integrity.
