Job summary

Talent-finder is assisting in recruiting a Business Development Manager for Llanrwst, North Wales. You will own commercial growth across Bus & Coach and Vehicle Sales, leading four direct reports and around sixty indirect reports, with day-to-day performance and client negotiations.

You will work with Finance to forecast and plan 3–5 years, review contracts to protect margins, and report KPI-driven insights to Directors.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership across multi-site/multi-business operations with P&L or budget responsibility.
• Track record of building capable teams and developing individuals to their potential.
• Strong commercial/financial acumen: analyze viability, forecast, protect margins.
• Excellent communication to influence Directors, motivate teams and win customers.
• Ability to balance strategic and urgent operational demands and priorities.
• Strategic mindset with a drive to implement lean, efficient processes.
• Confident with MS Word and Excel.
• Strong report-writing and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and win new commercial opportunities and contracts across Bus & Coach and Vehicle Sales.
• Collaborate with Finance to build annual forecasts and a 3–5 year business plan.
• Review major service contracts to protect margins against cost increases.
• Produce KPI-led reports for Directors and monitor P&L monthly.
• Renegotiate contracts to secure best market terms.
• Lead, motivate and develop a management and supervisory team.
• Communicate strategy and values clearly and consistently.
• Set objectives for direct reports and monitor delivery.
• Coordinate across Fleet, Sales, Projects, Aftersales and Engineering.
• Build strong relationships with customers and external partners.
• Chair meetings, deliver appraisals and mentor managers through change.
• Oversee compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and DVSA rules.
