An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing private dental group at a pivotal stage of its development.

The Group currently operates an exceptionally busy, high-turnover private dental practice which is about to undergo significant expansion, increasing from 4 to 11 surgeries. With further clinic locations currently being developed in Edinburgh and Belfast, we are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to help build the operational structure that will support this growth.

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to maintain established processes.

We are looking for someone who enjoys getting close to an operation, understanding how it works, identifying where improvements can be made and then putting practical systems and processes in place.

The Opportunity

The existing practice employs more than 20 people and manages a high volume of patients alongside complex clinical cases.

The immediate priority will be helping the practice successfully transition from 4 to 11 surgeries while maintaining high standards of patient care, efficiency and organisation.

You will review how the practice operates today, identify bottlenecks or inconsistencies and introduce clear, practical and measurable processes.

Importantly, the systems created within the existing practice will help form the operational model for future clinics as the Group expands.

As new locations open, the role will naturally develop into a broader multi-site operations position.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Oversee and continuously improve the day-to-day operational performance of the practice.
• Help successfully manage the transition from 4 to 11 surgeries.
• Review workflows, responsibilities and existing procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop clear, documented and repeatable operating procedures.
• Establish accountability across administrative and operational teams.
• Introduce meaningful KPIs, controls and reporting.
• Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and unnecessary manual processes.
• Work closely with clinical teams to ensure operational systems support rather than hinder patient care.
• Work with technology and systems colleagues to improve workflows and automation.
• Help develop an operating model that can ultimately be replicated across new clinic locations.
• Support the operational integration and launch of future practices.

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, practical and naturally process driven.

You will be comfortable working in a busy environment where not every system or responsibility has already been perfectly defined.

Rather than waiting for somebody else to create the structure, you will enjoy creating it yourself.

You should be confident managing people, holding teams accountable and implementing change, while remaining sufficiently hands-on to understand what is happening within the practice day to day.

A genuine continuous-improvement mindset is important. You should naturally ask how processes can become simpler, faster, more reliable and easier to replicate.

Previous experience within dental practice management or dental operations would be particularly attractive, although candidates from other complex private healthcare or regulated multi-site environments may also be considered.
