HSE Manager – multi-site operations
Purpose
Provide strategic leadership and accountability for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management across multi-site operations. Drive continuous improvement in HSE standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements while fostering a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Development: Enhance and implement HSE strategies, policies, and standards to ensure robust and cohesive procedures across multiple sites.
- Leadership & Compliance: Act as the primary HSE advisor to the management group, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, codes of practice, and corporate governance.
- Environmental Management: Oversee ISO 14001 systems, including preparation for and management of external audits.
- Legislative Assurance: Maintain full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Advisory Role: Provide practical guidance to managers and employees on HSE obligations and best practices.
- Planning & Performance: Set HSE goals, establish priorities, and implement systems for monitoring and performance management.
- Incident Management: Lead accident investigations, analyse data, and produce monthly reports to improve risk management and accountability.
- Audit & Documentation: Ensure all company documentation, audits, and administrative processes meet required standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage Extended Producer Responsibility requirements and maintain certification across UK sites.
- Engagement: Coordinate and host relevant meetings and deliver safety briefings.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist in developing emergency response and recovery plans.
- Risk analysis: Investigate incidents and near misses, identify corrective actions, and implement preventive strategies.
Additional Requirements
- UK multi-site coverage – Full UK driving license, own vehicle and willingness to travel.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Degree / NEBOSH Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years in a similar leadership role within manufacturing or industrial environments.
