Group Financial Controller

£60000-£70000 + excellent bonus + private medical + hybrid working + generous benefits

Our client is a global technology company with market-leading products and is listed on AIM.

We are looking for a recently qualified accountant with 2-5 years' post-qualified experience. Ideally you will be a graduate, qualified ACA from an accountancy practice background with 2 years+ experience in commerce & industry and now be looking to take the next step up in your career.

This role requires a finance professional with a strong financial accounting / technical accounting track record who is now looking to build on that in a commercial / entrepreneurial environment, working closely with the Finance Director and CFO in this cutting-edge technology business. You will be responsible for the preparation of the group consolidation and financial reporting under IFRS, finance, reporting and corporate compliance for the group, as well as working on the planning, strategy and future M&A work with the FD/CFO.

Working as part of a small head office team, you will liaise on a daily basis with the CFO and Group FD, as well as the founder and senior operational management team.

Key duties and responsibilities:

1. Timely preparation of the multi-currency group consolidation under IFRS
2. Responsibility for calculating and applying IFRS adjustments including adjustments for revenue, leases and development costs
3. Ensuring that accounting policies are aligned across the group
4. Supporting with financial integration and acquisition accounting for future M&A
5. Identification and implementation of systems and process improvements
6. Preparation of revenue dashboards, reporting packs and management accounts for group companies
7. Supporting with the preparation of the PLC annual report, interim financial statements and statutory accounts of subsidiary companies
8. Liaison with external auditors and preparation of audit support schedules and working papers
9. Supporting with the preparation of the annual budget and updating financial forecasts
10. Maintaining and updating financial models to support the valuation of intangible assets
11. Responsibility for day-to-day finance of some group companies including the posting of journals and transactions
12. Ownership of the accounting for inventory, fixed assets, deferred income, accruals, prepayments and other areas for the main trading entity
13. Working closely with other team members in the UK and overseas to complete the monthly close process
14. Ensuring that balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly, monitoring risks and opportunities
15. Supporting with the preparation of sales tax and corporate tax returns - UK and overseas.
16. Other ad hoc duties.

Essential:

1. Qualified accountant with a practice background (2-5 years post-qualified experience)
2. Strong technical accounting skills including knowledge of reporting under UK GAAP/IFRS
3. Hands-on and can-do attitude
4. Experience of working in a group environment with multiple territories/currencies
5. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
6. Confident in extracting, manipulating and reporting data from finance systems in an excel based environment
7. A high degree of spreadsheet competence.
