About The Role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee and optimize financial processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the financial stability of Plum. This strategic role involves leading the Financial Control team, working closely with the CFO, FP&A team, and other departments.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of the Group Financials - ensuring the accuracy of financial data and designing reporting processes for future growth.
• Develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Lead and develop the financial control team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Streamline financial reporting and control processes through system management.
• Collaborate with business units on accounting implications of new products.
• Oversee daily finance operations and treasury, leveraging automation.
• Manage the production of monthly management reports and accounts.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulators to ensure compliance and timely audits.
• Manage month-end closing and group consolidation reporting.
• Handle all tax-related submissions (Corporation, PAYE, VAT, R&D).
• Ensure regulatory returns are submitted accurately and on time.
• Foster effective communication within the finance team and with other departments.
• Align financial control objectives with overall business goals.
• Monitor changes in financial regulations and adapt controls accordingly.

What We Look For

• Proven experience in financial control.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, compliance, GAAP, IFRS; qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA).
• Excellent leadership and remote management skills.
• High attention to detail, proactive, self-motivated.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with various accounting systems and technology solutions.
• Comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience with regulatory returns is a plus.
• Previous experience in an EMI licensed organization or financial services is highly desirable.
