THE EMPLOYER IS: NORTH WEST CRICKET UNIONTo assist the North West Cricket Union’s Grounds Team in the preparation and maintenance of cricket facilities across the region. This role offers hands‑on experience in sports turf management, with opportunities to develop practical skills in ground preparation, equipment use, and facility upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation and maintenance of cricket pitches and outfields.
• Assist with mowing, rolling, marking and general turf care under supervision.
• Help maintain machinery and equipment in a clean, safe working condition.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of grounds and surrounding areas.
• Set up and take down match and training equipment as required.

Skills and Qualifications

• Interest in outdoor, hands‑on work or sports facility maintenance.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow safety procedures.
• Prepared to work in varying weather conditions.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, gardening or maintenance.
• Basic mechanical or equipment handling knowledge.
• UK driving licence and access to transport.
• Interest in pursuing a career in sports turf management.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent qualification/experience).
