Job summary

Mitie Group plc. seeks a Grounds Maintenance Operative to deliver high standards for outdoor spaces across Bodmin, Cornwall, including nearby Asda locations. You will maintain lawns, borders, hedges, and winter gritting during the colder months, reporting hazards to management.

The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with an emphasis on safety, reliability, and flexible outdoor work. A full UK driving licence and PA1/PA6 spraying preferred are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Passion for outdoor work in agile and flexible environments.
• Good understanding of smartphone technology.
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
• PA1/PA6 spraying license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required

Rate of Pay: £ 13.45 per hour
Location: Asda - St Austell, Cornwall, Bodmin, England PL30 4BB
Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence, PA1 & PA6 preferred, ability to tow trailers and advantage, some experience preferred etc also must be available to do gritting in the winter
