Job summary

Grounds Maintenance Operative role in Barrow-in-Furness is a temporary contract for six weeks, with 39 hours per week and some overtime potential. Job description

Grounds Maintenance Operative (Barrow-In-Furness) – up to £12.71 per hour, temporary contract for six weeks. Working Monday to Thursday from 07:30 to 16:30, and Friday from 07:30 to 12:30, this role covers 39 hours weekly with some overtime available.

You will maintain local public spaces for the Westmorland and Furness contract, undertaking grass cutting with ride-on and pedestrian mowers, strimming, pruning, weeding, shrub borders, litter collection, and related horticultural duties.

Prior grounds experience is required. This position suits someone comfortable with outdoor work in all weather, possessing practical skills and reliability. Further training can be provided.

About the role

We currently require multiple Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our teams in Barrow to work on our Westmorland and Furness contract. You will keep several local grounds in a wonderful condition for our client through grass cutting; using a ride on and pedestrian mower, strimming, pruning, weeding, shrub and border maintenance, litter picking and any other related horticultural duties. Requirements

Previous Grounds Maintenance experience beneficial or experience andamp; willing to work outdoors. Can-do attitude and safety-conscious mindset. Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. PA1 and PA6 licenses are desirable. A full valid UK manual driving licence beneficial.
