Job summary

Grounds Maintenance Operative role in Barrow-in-Furness is a temporary contract for six weeks, with 39 hours per week and some overtime potential. The position covers grass cutting, strimming, pruning, litter collection, and related horticultural duties on local public spaces for the Westmorland and Furness contract.

Successful candidates will have prior grounds maintenance experience, be comfortable outdoors in all weather, and possess a can-do attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous grounds maintenance experience beneficial.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
• Physically fit with safety-conscious mindset.
• PA1 and PA6 licences desirable.
• Full UK manual driving licence beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Grass cutting with ride-on and pedestrian mowers, strimming and pruning.
• Weeding, shrub borders and litter collection on local grounds.
• Maintain and manage open spaces under the Westmorland and Furness contract.
