Job summary

AECOM’s Ground Engineering team in the UK&I is seeking a Summer Placement Student to gain hands-on experience in ground investigation design, data analysis, and reporting. You will work within multidisciplinary teams, supporting foundations, earthworks, slope stability, and geotechnical modelling under experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geology.
• Target 2:1 (or equivalent) or higher.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ground investigation design and site inspections.
• Support data collection and interpretation using geotechnical tools.
• Prepare interpretative and design reports and ground models.
• Contribute to 2D/3D geotechnical modelling and simulations.
• Assist in tender documentation for Ground Engineering projects.
