Job summary

AECOM’s Ground Engineering team in the United Kingdom & Ireland is seeking geotechnical engineering graduates to join a dynamic 2-year GDP. You will contribute to desk studies, field investigations, and ground modelling for diverse infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology/Geology with a 2:1 or higher.
An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/Civil 3D desirable.
Prior ground engineering work experience is preferred but not essential.
Willingness to pursue professional qualifications through ICE, IOM3 or The Geological Society.
Demonstrated interest in ground engineering projects and client engagement.
Flexibility to work away from home on sites and occasional travel to other offices.
Full UK driving license preferred.

Responsibilities

Desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys and geomorphological mapping.
Design, planning and procurement of ground investigations.
Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork.
Geological interpretation and preparation of interpretative reports.
Analysis of geotechnical data and development of ground models for foundations, retaining walls and earthworks.
Use of OpenGround for data management and Leapfrog for 3D modelling.
Access to 2D/3D numerical analysis software with opportunities to develop modelling skills.
