AECOM's Ground Engineering team in the UK&I is offering a student internship to gain hands-on experience across ground investigations, data interpretation and design support. You will work with engineers and geologists on real projects, contributing to reports, modelling and tender documentation while travelling to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Current pursuit of degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Geology with expected 2:1 or higher.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is advantageous.
• Strong interest in geotechnics and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Support Ground Investigation Projects—assist with desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys, and geomorphological mapping.
• Data collection and analysis of geological and geotechnical data using industry tools.
• Assist in preparing interpretative and design reports, ground models and technical documentation.
• Design support for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, earthworks and rock slope stabilisation.
• Develop skills in 2D and 3D numerical modelling using company software.
• Prepare Ground Engineering tender documents for construction.
• Collaborate with engineers, geologists and environmental specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Apply health, safety and sustainability principles in all project work.
