Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to support students in a North Tyneside secondary school. You will work one-to-one and in small groups, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

Ideal for graduates considering careers in Teaching, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology or SEND support, this role delivers valuable classroom experience, safeguarding exposure and CPD. Long-term opportunities and progression are available.

Qualifications

• Graduates from any subject are welcome.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Positive, proactive attitude and resilience.
• Experience with young people is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a one-to-one basis.
• Assist in small-group teaching sessions.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver inclusive lessons.
• Support students with SEND, ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and attendance.
• Build relationships to support confidence and wellbeing.
• Provide academic and pastoral support as needed.
• Gain experience in safeguarding and classroom management.
